Reasons to try the Paradiso Black Run
One of the steepest slopes in the Alps
The descent of the Paradiso Run is a blend of technique, speed, and adrenaline. Once you reach the Paradiso Pass at 2,585 metres above sea level using the cable car with the same name, you can get ready to tackle one of the steepest ski slopes in Italy. The first section of the Paradiso Black Run is easy, then a hairpin bend between the rocks changes the pace: a vertical plunge begins, steep, panoramic, and stretching for 1,500 metres, to be skied at speed. The descent continues with a sharp turn, a gentler section, and several changes in gradient and bumps that make every part of the descent unique. In the final part of this thrilling black run, there is a fork: you can continue toward Ponte di Legno or return to the bottom station of the Paradiso Cable Car and set off for another descent
A perfectly positioned black ski slope
The Lombardy side of the Presena Glacier faces north and during winter is not directly reached by the sun’s warmth. For this reason, the snow on the Paradiso Run stays in excellent condition throughout the ski season, melting completely only in the height of summer. Located right on the Paradiso Pass, this thrilling black ski slope is ideal for starting directly from the top of the glacier, at 3,000 metres of altitude, and enjoying some of the most beautiful slopes in the ski area one after another. Thanks to the connection between the Paradiso Run, the Tonale Pass, and Ponte di Legno, the most daring skiers can tackle 11 km of skiing and around 2,000 metres of elevation gain in a single descent.
One of the most legendary slopes in Italy
Inaugurated in 1963, the Paradiso Black Run has since become one of the best‑known descents in the Pontedilegno‑Tonale area. Every winter, thousands of skiers reach the slopes of the Presena Glacier to take on this spectacular black run, surrounded by a panorama of snow‑covered peaks. Time has not diminished its charm: today, the Paradiso Run is ranked as one of the 10 best downhill ski slopes in Italy. Thanks to the ski lifts and the connection to the other slopes in the ski area, you can ski from the top of the Presena Glacier all the way down to Ponte di Legno and Temù with a single ski pass.
