Edolo

Going up Valle Camonica, Edolo is the gateway to the high valley: here the mountains become imposing and you have the impression you are entering a new and particularly fascinating environment.

Edolo is an elegant town with numerous services and artistic and cultural attractions. The cobbled or paved streets in the centre of the town provide a warm example of medieval structure with elegant buildings full of ashlar granite arches, studded doors, wooden loggias and Romanesque decorations.

The town is the end of the line for the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway and is 20 km from Ponte di Legno; during the winter there is a ski bus service that takes skiers to the slopes in the Pontedilegno-Tonale Ski Area easily and quickly.

A cinema, an indoor pool, a sport climbing gym, clay tennis courts and walks along the River Oglio and  Ogliolo stream are just some of the attractions on offer in the town, there is also an Enel hydroelectric power plant that offers guided tours.
