ROCK & RIVER RANDONNÉE

The eve of the Granfondo Internazionale Gavia e Mortirolo is a non-competitive bikepacking event that combines passion, adventure and discovery of the territory. Rock River Randonnée is open to all bike lovers, who will discover the natural and historical beauty of the Alta Valle Camonica and Alta Val di Sole. Gravel, mountain bike and e-bike will be the absolute protagonists: it is not a race but a beautiful adventure to be experienced at your own pace, organizing stops and overnight stays in total autonomy.

You can choose among 3 routes

• 50 km and 1,100 m of altitude difference: to savor the adventure with a touch of challenge.
• 90 km and 2,200 m of altitude difference: a challenging journey between nature and history.
• 130 km and 3,200 m of altitude difference: an epic challenge to be experienced in a day or two, to explore every corner of this magical land.

Departure is scheduled for 9:00 from Ponte di Legno.

The route winds through enchanted villages and breathtaking landscapes:

Case di Viso, a charming rural village that seems to have come out of a fairy tale, where time has stopped.

The legendary climb of the Gavia Pass, a sacred place for cyclists from all over the world.

Valle delle Messi and Val Grande, treasure chests of uncontaminated nature.

There will be no shortage of strategic refreshment points along the route, to taste typical products and recharge your batteries:

Vione: the first refreshment point, an explosion of local flavours.

Edolo: the lowest point of the trail, where you can prepare for the next climb.

Castle at Ossana: a magical break, with a view of the San Leonardo lakes.

Cable car from Ponte di Legno to Passo Tonale

A special cable car ride will take you to Passo Tonale at 1,800 meters. From here begins the spectacular Via del Sale, an ancient military road that winds between historic forts and barracks from the First World War, up to Vermiglio and the Ossana Castle, with a view of the majestic Presanella, the highest peak in Trentino.

After the last challenge on the hairpin bends of Baita Velon, the adrenaline turns into pure joy with the descent on the brand new cycle/pedestrian path that connects Passo Tonale to Ponte di Legno, which is the arrival point of this ride.
